The ib school tournament in delhi

Day1- On the 23rd of September the ullens IB left Kathmandu and started to heading towards Delhi.  The IB team consisted of 40 students and 5 teachers had accompanied us.  All of us were wearing the same tracksuit with Nepal written in our backs. People in the airport most probably thought we were going for some national game. We travelled by indigo air and our flight time was at 2oclock. The journey form Kathmandu to Delhi was very short only about one hour.
As we reached the Delhi airport everybody seemed very excited as we waited for our luggage. I could see such a big difference between the Kathmandu airport and the Delhi airport.  The Delhi airport was much bigger and better maintained.
The Gd goenka school bus had come to pick us up. Form the airport the school was about one and half hour far.  I sat with tsering in the front seat so I could see everything around clearly. There were skyscrapers everywhere. I had visited Delhi twice but that was five years back.  When we reached the school every body was very surprised as it was such a big and beautiful school.  We were welcomed and went to dining hall for snacks. As we were eating two girls came up to us and started introducing them self’s they were the school captains and were there to help us. They took us to their dormitory and showed us our rooms.
My room partner’s were Anjana, Sammy, aayushma and tsering. Our first night in the school was good as they room were very comfortable to stay.  We feel a sleep quite fast, as we were tired after the journey.

Day 2-The next morning we got up, got ready and went for breakfast. The schools participating were Ullens school Nepal, Paths ways world school aravali, paths ways world school, Baliawas, cathedral vidya school, lonavala and Gd Goenka School. At 9o’clock the Inauguration ceremony started. They had performed 3 dances and one song. The sport captain of the school requested us to stand up and take an oath.   After the ceremony was over every body started heading towards the swimming pool.  The aquatics meet was open and the competition started. All the school swam very well form our school kelsang was placed second in 25meters free style; I was placed third in 50 meters breaststroke and salil third in free 25 meters style. After the swimming was over Ullens School had a match with pathways school, Aravali. Both the teams played excellently but like every game one has to win and one has to lose Ullens School sadly lost.  We had one-hour lunch break and had a girl’s basketball match after it.   The match was between ullens school Nepal and pathways school Aravali. Our school had lost again. Even though our team had lost they were still happy as they played well and given their best. There were some more matches. We went to our rooms and rested until 4 o’clock after that had to go for practice.  After the tiring practice we went to the school canteen, which was called the fuelzap. We ordered food and sat in lawn and ate. We had a wonderful time-sharing our funny experiences. We went for the Gd goenka university visit. They gave us information about he the university and showed us around.

Day 3- We got up and went to have our breakfast there was a girls basketball match going but out school dint have it so were dint go to watch. After a while we had our girls basket ball match with the Gd goenka school.  It was a very exciting match as our school played so well. We won them by so many points. It made me so happy seeing the girl’s basketball team so happy. We all started moving towards the football team to cheer for our team as they had their match with Gd Goenka School. Sadly our team lost but they had surely given their best.
We had a one-hour lunch break lunch tasted so good as were so hungry.  I had my swimming competition after lunch.  Al the swimmers from different school swam very well. I was placed first in 100 meters free style; salil to was placed first in 20 meters butterfly, Sabrina 3rd in breaststroke both our boys and girls relay teams were placed 2nd.  Our boy’s basketball team had a match with Gd Goenka School. Our team played so well, they had good teamwork too. But we dint win. Everybody seemed very tired so we went to rest in our rooms. After short rest we started to dress up as we were going to ambience mall. The school bus had dropped us. My friends and eat food and did some shopping. It was around 11 when we returned back tot eh school we were all quite tired so fell a sleep early.

Day4- As we all woke up we were surprised, as it was our last day here time passed so fast. The basketball team girls were very scared and nerves as they had reached the finals and they had their last match with pathways Aravali. The match began our school lost but at least we were placed second.  The next match was between Ullens School and cathedral vidya school.  Our team had won we all were so happy as the boys team had worked so hard. The football team had lost the football match. Right after that we had the prize distribution. I really enjoyed it as all the schools participating were there. There had preformed 2 dances and one song. They distributed all the medals and certificate.  Ullens School was placed second in girls swimming, basketball, and boy’s football and third in boy’s basketball. After the prize distribution was over the bus was going to reach us till the city select mall. This mall was much more bigger than the ambience mall. My friends and I eat very delicious food and did some shopping at last went to Starbucks and ordered coffee.   The school bus had come to pick us up. As we reached our rooms we were suppose to pack our bags as we were leaving the next day.

Day 5- All our bags and suitcases were packed and we were ready to go back Nepal. We had breakfast and left for the airport. In the airport we had some dominoes pizza and did a bit of shopping. Our flight took off at one pm and landed at 2 pm.

I have enjoyed and loved this IB school tournament. I would like to thank all the teachers who had come along to support us and my all my friends who have made this tournament so memorable. Even though our school dint win the game that doesn’t matter much what matters most is how we played the game. All our teams gave their best and played with full enthusiasm. I hope that next year too we get a chance to participate in the IB tournament and perform much better than this year.
